The books arrived in a sturdy cardboard box. Each book was also wrapped in a plastic cover. All in all I must say that Blurb’s shipping did an excellent job of getting the books in mint condition to me.

It’s neat to see my name on the side of a book, even it represents a publication with less than 10 copies. Oh right, that means it’s “exclusive”

As far as paper is concerned I decided to do a small upgrade from the Standard paper and opted for Premium Matte. It’s nice but in all honesty (I compared with the smaller square books) the difference isn’t huge. Next time I will try the more luxurious-sounding options such as ProLine Pearl Photo!

Browsing through the book I am pleased how my limited layout skills managed to create a nice overview of the short city trip I took to New York.

Although this kind of photography book takes a little longer to put together than simply developing photographs and sticking them in an album the end result is more satisfying. Moreover, this Blurb book can both serve as a great coffee table book to get a conversation starting as well as a portfolio to show off. I am off now to think of more photo ideas for a new Blurb book

When I got back I decided to make a book with a selection of the pictures I took during my stay. That book is being printed (at Blurb) as we speak and I am looking forward to getting my hands on it.

Below you can find the layout of a couple of pages. This is a personal project but should demand be sufficient I would consider adding more photographs of my visit or even a book to my Etsy store.
